Water TribesTribe Chief: Tasang (Southern Water Tribe), Sanrik (Northern Water Tribe)
The Water Tribe is a collective term for the nation of people who practice the art of waterbending. It is one of the original four nations and its citizens primarily inhabit the northern and southernmost regions of the globe, near both poles. There is a small community of waterbenders that populate the Foggy Swamp in the Earth Kingdom, although they have been isolated from their sister tribes for generations and others are largely unaware of their existence.
The people of the Water Tribe are generally peaceful, and strive to live in harmony with nature and the other nations of the world. There are two primary divisions of the Water Tribe, the Northern Tribe and the Southern Tribe, though the Northern chief has the most power and authority.
Geography: Mostly polar ice caps, very cold, very snowy, lots of ice. Glaciers cover the lands and create mountainous structures that have the ability to house large and terrible snowstorms. Surrounding the south pole is a blinding ice storm known as the Everstorm. It is uninhabitable and any who dare to enter get lost and hardly ever return.
The Foggy Swamp Waterbenders live in the spirit swamp in the Earth Kingdom. Since the swamp is mostly water, they use boats made of driftwood powered by their bending to maneuver through the thick brush. Roots and vines cover the forest making it almost impossible to venture through unless one knows exactly what they are doing.
